World Cup leader Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) and Daron Rahlves (Sugar Bowl, CA) made U.S. skiing history as they tore down a sun-splashed Birds of Prey downhill run to finish 1-2 - the first time two American men have completed that feat. Bryon Friedman (Park City, UT) added to the unprecedented result, finishing in the top 10. "I was flying" Miller said after screaming down the steep course in an unofficial 1:39.76 with Rahlves timed in 1:39.92. Third place went to Austrian Michael Walchhofer (1:40.15) while Friedman devoured the bottom of the run for his best World Cup showing in time of 1:40.75. "It's about time," Rahlves said as he instructed a couple of photographers to get a photo of him with his mother, Sally, and wife, Michelle. "It's what we wanted - both of us on the (top-three) podium".
