Crimson Classics: 1985 Alabama vs. Georgia (Full Frame)

An old football cliche states, as the weather cools down, the college football season heats up. Not in 1985! The 1985 season got off to a burning start when head coach Ray Perkins took his Crimson Tide to Athens, Georgia for a Labor Day battle with the Bulldogs in front of a national stage. In the late summer of 1985 Ray Perkins was preparing his team for what might today be called a make-or-break season. Perkins had a 12-10 record in two seasons since following Paul Bryant, after leaving the New York Giants for the opportunity of a lifetime. Sit back and enjoy newly restored game footage and listen as current head coach Mike Shula, former head coach Ray Perkins, Dave Rader, Wes Neighbors, Kermit Kendrick and more discuss the game that started as a defensive struggle and ended with a last-second comeback that made this Monday night game in Georgia a Crimson Classic.
