"JAG" (Judge Advocate General) is an elite legal branch of military officers trained as lawyers who investigate, prosecute and defend those accused of crimes in the military, including murder, treason and terrorism. Navy Cmdr. Harmon "Harm" Rabb, an ace pilot turned lawyer, and Marine Lt. Col. Sarah "Mac" MacKenzie, a beautiful and strictly by-the-book officer, are colleagues, both with similar high standards, that often find themselves clashing with one another as they take different routes to solve cases. Assisting them with their mission is Navy Lt. Bud Roberts, a lawyer who often surprises his superiors with the breadth of his knowledge, and their boss, the no-nonsense Admiral Chegwidden, a former Navy Seal. Disc One: "Critical Condition (Part 2)": Having already lost his leg in a landmine explosion, Bud may now lose his life. A Congressional hearing does not bode well for the Secretary of the Navy; "The Promised Land": A Marine is charged with desertion, but claims he left due to anti-Semitism. Bud wonders why his father hasn't come to visit him in the hospital; "Family Business": Lt. Singer gets a lukewarm farewell from the JAG office, but a warmer sendoff from Harm's brother. A Marine is charged with killing his alcoholic wife; "Dangerous Game": A civilian cop is killed during unconventional war games. The new Secretary of the Navy is sworn in, then appoints a new JAG lawyer, Tracey Manetti; "In Thin Air": Harm is found to be prejudiced when he defends a maintenance officer who may have caused the death of an aviator. Harriet interferes with Bud's rehab.
