Bill Plympton

Bill Plympton "Mutant Aliens" has earned the filmmaker a huge cult following around the world, from his frequent sots on MTV to his award-Winning entries at the Cannes Film Festival. His brilliantly off-centered sight gags have labeled him as an endlessly clever artist "The San Fransisco Chronicle" and the original boy genius of the pencil "The Baltimore Sun." Nominated for a Sundance Grand Jury Prize, "The Tune is Plympton's first feature-length extravaganza, hailed as pure animated fun- New York Daily News. Exploring the anxieties of rejection as an artist, "The Tune" is a strangely romantic comedy about Del, a struggling songwriter who must come up with the perfect ditty for slimeball mogul Mr. Mega, or run the risk of losing his job and his girlfriend Didi. En route to meet his boss, Del accidentally stumbles into the surreal wonderland of Flooby-Nooby, where Elvis-impersonating dogs, nose-less cab drivers and sadistic bellhops each perform their own outrageous musical numbers! Is this crazed cast of colorful characters enough to inspire Del's greatest hit, or will he remain a flat not in Flooby-Nooby forever? Peppered with an electric mix of blues, country, rock and other musical American, Maureen McElheron's Independent Spirit Award nominated score is just one more reason why you should be whistling "The Tune!".
