Lassie: Best Of The Lassie Show (Full Frame)

"Lassie" has saved the day without fail for more than six decades in film, television, radio and books. Her embodiment of the American notion of a boy and his dog has fueled unparalleled success in all forms of pop culture. No other dog, real or imagined, has the emotional bond that Lassie has forged with multiple generations. "The Best of the Lassie Show" episodes includes: "The Rocking Chair (1958)" - Lassie's fondness for the old family rocking chair, which Timmy donates to the school auction, causes quite a few complications. Lassie becomes so fond of the chair which she found and in which she was allowed to sit that Paul and Ruth try to bid for it at the school auction, but neighbor Joe Bascom tops their offer and winds up with the chair. Then the chair mysteriously disappears, and Timmy, who had tried to buy it back from Bascom, is accused of stealing it. How Lassie clears up the mysterious disappearance provides the climax. "Peace Patrol (1958)" - Timmy and Lassie join the Lone Ranger's Peace Patrol to sell U.S. Savings Bonds. Money collected by their school disappears and a poor student is accused of stealing. Lassie and Timmy solve the mystery and meet the "Lone Ranger", who presents Timmy and Lassie with an award. "Lassie and the Grand Canyon (1960)" - Timmy and Ruth are at the Grand Canyon with Lassie to help with Ruth's family friend, the park ranger, promote the "See America First" program. When Timmy goes on a mule ride down the canyon, Lassie escapes from the kennel and follows along, getting them into trouble.
