"Swiss Family Robinson" is a story about a family who overcomes disaster with love, courage and ingenuity. Shipwrecked and stranded, the Robinson family adapts to a primitive way of life. Crops are planted, a treehouse becomes home. Wild animals, snakes and even the forces of nature are against them. The family discovers that Jenny, a fellow passenger, is stranded on a nearby island. They rescue Jenny in time to save her from an erupting volcano. Years later, an off-course British navy boat appears in the bay. The boys, longing to complete their education, return to civilization leaving Hans and Martha Robinson to continue their happy island lives.
