The Kensington bed is modern and old-fashioned; all within the same frame. The camelback headboard and footboard are certainly traditional. Widely spaced vertical bars line up just like the changing of the guard. Scrolled designs and an inverted curve with a flourish. Scalloped shells grip the posts and the second curved lines of the headboard and footboard. Mushroom-capped feet on the footboard sprout against the floor, with globe finials donning the tops of all four posts. Yet, the overall design of the bed comes off with a modern tone. Perhaps it s the cool metal frame, or maybe the scrolls are a little too dashing for an old-fashioned palate. Whatever the case, the Kensington is designed to please.
